All driven by the same passion, 36 students from the EDHEC Business School organize the European Rugby Sevens Cup in Lille & Roubaix.
The concept : gather 16 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams from the most prestigious European universities for a rugby 7’s tournament at the Roubaix Velodrome, from Friday, March 17th to Sunday 19th.
During the weekend, 350 players won’t pay anything. The cost of accommodation transportation, meals and parties are all covered by the association.
Entrance on the Village to access free animations and spectacular rugby games are also free for the 500 visitors. With students, families, elderly people and children coming from the whole conurbation, the ER7 Village is intergenerationnal.
Participants will also discover the amazing festive spirit of rugby Sevens on the Village with concerts and free animations.
For the 3rd edition, ER7 has developed a brand new projects for non-rugby players : the FAN Cup. By teams of 5, students from all over Europe will compete on a series of entertaining games and try to win the final prize.
ER7 commits to contribute to developing physical activities and sports for disabled people. Indeed, a quad rugby tournament will take place on Saturday at the Roubaix Velodrome. On top of that, every participant and visitor could try out this very impressive Paralympic sport and other animations on a dedicated place on the Village.
This third edition also aims to develop a new project : in partnership with the primary school « La Cordée » at Roubaix, from the network Espérance Banlieues , our members spend two hours every week with children for a rugby initiation and convey our passion and values.
This initiative’s focal point will be the KidDay, a whole day dedicated to children on the 23th of March.
